About Me

Little about me? I would characterize myself as a bit of a technology enthusiast software developer who likes to tinker with simple little things. I've played around with computers since I got my first one somewhere in the start of 90's or about. That one being a Commodore 64. I remember actually trying to program a bit with it, although actual coding didn't really start to interest me until getting into university. Prior to that, I only dabbled with editing some text files in some old DOS games like Civilization, SIM City and the like, kind of like weak attempts at modding.

But tinkering and building with PCs got me eventually to actually studying them, and although I for some time had some fantasy about learning electronics I gradually turned into mostly software. I can really make a mess with a soldering iron if I try! Anyways, got into my career path in about half way to my studies when I got a summer job in Nokia. At that time it was still at it's height, so it was pretty cool to work there.

Long story short - managed to graduate and took a short hiatus year in Taiwan where I managed to get into a sort of software job in ITRI. That was pretty great although it was challenging due to the language. I've been trying to learn some Chinese but I'm still pretty much a beginner. That was my second trip to Asia, since I had earlier spent a half year in Japan in Kitami as an exchange student. So explains a bit of my interest in Asian languages.

After returning, I managed to land a job working with system integrations for Finnish Posti through a subcontractor. Which is when I started to title myself as an integration architect. I've been at it since then, and I belive it has grown to me. Although these days it sometimes feels like I'm more of an DevOps engineer than integrations developer.

Aaanyways. I've always wanted to make something that other people might find useful too. And tinkering with small code projects and IOT stuff at home has not really satisfied that itch. So this year I decided to actually try making some apps and publish them. So far I've made a two small apps which are both available on Google Play Store. And it's been fun to learn. I'm hoping to keep it going and make more stuff. I have plenty of ideas, so we'll see how it goes.

And yeah, this site too. I've always liked writing blogs which I used to have but haven't done for a long while now. So this is my attempt to get back into it. We'll see how it goes. I've never written about technical stuff in blog format either, so please bear with me. Updates might be a bit sparse since I have a day job too, and a couple of padawans running around.
