SSH Memo
Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 8, 2026
SSH Memo ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your data, including your notes and media, and our compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Local and Remote Data (Notes & Media)
Your data belongs to you. All notes, images, and files you create or attach are stored locally on your device and synchronized to a remote server of your choice via the Secure Shell (SSH) protocol.
- No Developer Access: We do not host your data. We have no access to your SSH credentials, server addresses, notes, or media files.
- User-Initiated Transfers: Data transfer to your SSH server occurs only based on your configuration and actions.
- Encryption: All data in transit is encrypted via the SSH protocol provided by your server environment.
2. Media and File Access
When you attach images or files to a note, the app uses system-standard "Pickers." We only access the specific files you explicitly select. We do not request or maintain broad access to your photo gallery or file system.
3. User Consent & GDPR Rights
Users in the European Economic Area (EEA) are presented with a consent choice for personalized ads. Under GDPR, you have the right to access, delete, or restrict your data. For data synced via SSH, these rights are exercised by managing your own server. For AdMob data, contact Google directly.
4. Data Retention
Since we do not collect your notes or media on our own infrastructure, we do not retain any of your personal content. Deleting the app removes local data, while remote data must be managed on your SSH server.
